Bond 2016 - Overview
On Tuesday, May 7th, Portland citizens will consider a bond election to improve and expand facilities in Portland. The project will include:
- Consolidating baseball activities and adding additional ball fields and amenities at Municipal (13-Acre) Park
- Constructing a youth football field, improving softball fields and adding parking and other amenities at the Sports Complex (also known as the Softball Complex) on Buddy Ganem Drive
- Rehabilitating and enlarging the Daniel P. Moore Community Center
A bond election is an election in which voters are asked to consider authorizing the City to sell bonds to pay for a project. Bonds are paid back over time. If approved by voters on May 7th, the City will sell up to $25,200,000 in bonds to finance the parks and recreation projects. For more information visit:
